A new range of support and funding is now available for families living in Hall Green who have been affected by the impacts of Coronavirus.

Birmingham Children’s Partnership has connected with services across the city and Accord Housing Association is coordinating this support across the Hall Green Constituency which includes Sparkbrook, Sparkhill, Balsall Heath, Moseley, Kings Heath & Hall Green.

Families in these areas can now access:

  1. A £1m resilience fund created by Birmingham City Council, to support families in hardship, for example to buy food, medicines, nappies and other supplies, or in emergencies to pay bills, fuel, white goods or internet access
  2. Support from voluntary, community and faith groups
  3. advice and guidance through telephone support in each locality
  4. Mental health support for young people aged 11 to 25

Birmingham City Council has also created a £0.8m community grant fund to help support voluntary, community and faith groups deliver a range of Covid-19 relief efforts. Both funds have been made available thanks to Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) and Birmingham City Council.

Caroline Wolhuter Head of Innovation and Impact at Accord said: “We are really pleased to be involved with this initiative to deliver a range of much needed support for families who are finding things hard due to the impacts of Coronavirus. We understand these are difficult times and would encourage families, schools and community workers to contact us for support.”
